There are not many of us out there that dislike Google. Whether you are a seasoned search marketer or if you are my Mum sat at home messing around looking for gardening tips. We all use it. Why? Well, they seem to be the best at what they do; Deliver information when you search for it.

One of Google’s latest projects being engineered in their labs is Google Fast Flip. This enables you to view news stories as you would see them in offline print. I still buy a newspaper at the weekend as I like to see the nice pictures, I like how the pages are presented, it’s old school and familiar and I like it. Normal web pages do not deliver information in this way. Fast Flip does. It allows you to flip through pages as you would if you were turning pages of the Guardian, Cosmopolitan or in my Mums case Gardeners weekly. If you like what you see you simply click on the page which will open fully enabling you to access and read all content.

Unfortunately, as fast flip is not fully launched it only has one UK news source which is the BBC. I am sure the Google Empire is working on this.

Now, although we have decided that we like the lovely Google people I am sure there must be something in it for them other than having lots of adoring users. Fast flip will receive a lot of interest from marketers wanting to gain position on these pages. Whether it is the offline advertisers who move to online through this and Google take a share or if it is Google ads direct.

Google will also want to embed this technology onto publishers’ websites. This will expand the reach massively, especially for advertisers. Is this the next step for the content network?

Let us know what you think. Do you like the new Fast Flip? Give it a try and let us know.
