New Look SERPS from Google0

An interesting update to Google.com SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) recently has started some chatter in the industry.
On initial view, it seems that the .com results have been altered slightly in two ways. Firstly, the Title underline has been removed and secondly the page seems to be ‘zoomed in’.
The net effect is that in some cases the last viewable Organic and PPC ads above the fold drop below the fold, but mainly it just makes it easier to see.
Cynically, the visual impression is that in particular the Top 3 highlighted Paid Ads stand out more and would likely increase the chances of being clicked, thus lining the Google pocket some more.
Take a look by first searching for a key word phrase on google.co.uk and then the same on google.com and go back and forward on your browser to see the difference. It’s a bit like using the + buttons for zooming in on a website.
