Website page load times an important SEO rank factor? No, not really!
We’ve seen a lot of recent press about the subject of whether website page load times are going to impact SEO rank scoring, thanks to Google’s recent announcement at PubCon. Our guess is that it simply won’t be the difference between a very good and an excellent campaign.
We have always recommended a robust hosting, database and site platform for a number of reasons, not least that it will provide the very best experience for customers. If you have failed to recognise this basic requirement of a professional website, then it is highly unlikely that page load times are going to impact your SEO success.
Of course, hosting is not the only factor in page load times and clean, well-coded website design will play an equal part. But this is not “Rocket Surgery” (copyright ST) and good web design will once again be a fundamental requirement of a successful Website and SEO campaign.
So our advice is to make sure that your website/ecommerce strategy includes the basic elements that will make the website a success and this will undoubtedly include a decent hosting package and contemporary web build.
Then let SEO specialists work on a long-term integrated strategy to drive an increase in relevant visitors – that your website will subsequently turn into customers.
